Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Children’s Shakespeare Theatre is committed to the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion.

We support and uplift people of all racial, ethnic, religious, sexual and gender identities, including those with disabilities. We will use our work to bring awareness to the ways that racism, prejudice and discrimination affect our lives.

As an educational theatre we have a responsibility to educate and encourage learning in our community. This includes exploring racism, power dynamics, and other ways that historically disenfranchised communities have experienced oppression. We are committed to creating an atmosphere where participants and staff of a variety of backgrounds can thrive.

We strive to expand our organization with a greater diversity of perspectives and commit to hearing all voices who wish to work with us.

We will prioritize creating greater diversity with regards to our Board, Staff, company and community.

To achieve this goal, CST will improve outreach to global majority communities, work to create a robust scholarship fund so that individuals can participate equally in CST’s creative community and promote CST’s performances and activities as widely as possible.
